5K is the world’s oldest annual 5K. The first American 5K, which is sponsored by John Doe.
The legendary Marathon course starts in Lary, MA and ends on Valy Street.
See above course map and a full list of amenities along the course.
Poland Spring Water and Lemon Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula stations will be set up along the course beginning at Mile Two.
Note that the stations are staggered on each side of the road, i.e., the station on the right side will fall immediately prior to a similar station on the left side of the road. This is done to avoid runner gridlock, and we urge runners not to cross over from one side of the road to the other at the water stations.
ENERGY GEL STATIONS
Energy Gel stations will be located on the course: mile 11.8; mile 17; and at mile 21.5. Two caffeinated flavors (Mocha & Citrus) and two non-caffeinated flavors (Vanilla & Razz) are available.
COURSE CLOCKS AND MILE/KILOMETER SIGNAGE
Digital clocks, positioned at every mile and 5K mark, indicate the unofficial running time from the 10:00 a.m. start only.
Signage indicates mile and 5K marks.
Runners unable to finish the race may stop for assistance and direction at one of the Red Cross first aid stations along the course.
Sweep buses pick up runners at every Red Cross station with drop-off at the Finish Area medical tent.
Aid stations along the course close at staggered times during the day.
Runners still out on the course when officials determine that it is time to reopen the roads will be instructed to move to the right side of the road.
For your convenience and use during the race, there are toilets at every water and Red Cross station, as well as at additional locations along the course.
